Steam Awards 2021 Winners List
These are all the games that have won across various categories related to VR, multiplayer, visual style, soundtrack, and more.
Steam Game Of The Year (GOTY) 2021 – Resident Evil Village
RE Village was a highly anticipated game, and thankfully, it delivered and how! We will never forget how Lady Dimitrescu gave us nightmares. With top-tier game design, characters, and of course, horror, Resident Evil Village’s win is well-deserved.
VR Game Of The Year – Cooking Simulator VR
VR is taking off steadily, especially since the Oculus Quest 2 sold like hot cakes during the 2021 holiday season. In this genre, Cooking Simulator VR pushes boundaries and we’re totally here for it.
Labor Of Love – Terraria
One of the major reasons why fans have stuck by Terraria is because of the constant and regular new content updates. It’s truly a labor of love that the developers have been paying utmost attention to.
Better With Friends – It Takes Two
It Takes Two is a brilliant co-op game with a unique concept. It’s immersive, the puzzles are interesting with the right amount of challenge and it helps you experience teamwork like no other recent game.
Outstanding Visual Style – Forza Horizon 5
I have raved about the graphics of FH5 in my review, and THIS award is exactly what this game deserves. With close-to-reality visuals that are even more spellbinding in 4K, Forza Horizon 5 has brought Mexico to life and given it complete justice.
Most Innovative Gameplay – Deathloop
Deathloop succeeded because of its creativity a fresh perspective. The challenge is to use stealth as well as gadgets, weapons and even parkour to take out enemies. Many have dabbled in the time loop concept in movies and games, but this one takes the cake in 2021.
Best Game You Suck At – Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition
For those who love to endure pain by playing the toughest games out there, this year Nioh 2 The Complete Edition is the best one you should try. Completing this game is all about patience, dedication, persistence and strategy. My hat tip to you if you speed run through games like Nioh 2.
Best Soundtrack – Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
The GoTG movie gained extra fame due to its awesome music and the game doesn’t fall short in that category either! The OST of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is the winner of the best soundtrack and rightly so – it elevated the game to a whole new level. Here’s our review of Marvel’s GoTG.
Outstanding Story-Rich Game – Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a story-rich game that had a rough start (super rough). But it has now defeated Life is Strange True Colors, RE Village, Days Gone and Mass Effect LE to win this award for the best narrative-heavy game that gets players emotionally invested in it.
Sit Back And Relax – Farming Simulator 22
Last but not least – one of my favorite categories. For me, gaming is first about sitting back and relaxing after a long day and Farming Simulator 22 does the trick. You won’t even realize how fast time passes when you’re busy farming and nurturing your crops.
