Previously, Staples offered a $75 off on all Windows devices including the Microsoft’s Surface. Then Best Buy together with Microsoft, Intel and various computer manufacturers offered a $100 discount to those customers who purchased a Windows 8 PC with touch. Now Staples, following Best Buy’s footsteps, is offering a new promotion for people willing to move to a touch-enabled PC.
This is how it works: You go to the retail store and buy one of the Windows 8 touchscreen PCs (all-in-one PC, tablet or notebook) that qualifies for the Staples promotion, including Surface RT and Surface Pro. Then you complete an online form detailing which tablet or PC you’re trading in.
According to Staples, customers can get up to $400 if the trade is with any notebook powered by an Intel Core i7 or AMD FX CPU, any Apple Macbook (Air or Pro). The minimum amount of money one gets is $100 when trading in any notebook or netbook of any age (but they do have to be in working conditions).
After you complete and send the form, Staples will send you a box with a prepaid label for you to ship back the old PC or tablet in question (don’t forget to include the power cable and to erase the hard drive completely, if you don’t anyone could have access to your private data!)
You must ship the old PC within 30 days of the Windows 8 PC purchase. Then Staples will send you a Visa prepaid card with the amount you and the retailer agreed upon. This new “Trade up to touch.” promotion is for U.S. only and it will continue until April 27th, 2013.
