Some fans underpinned their displeasure with the new look of Peter Parker in Spider-Man Remastered with threats, which caused corresponding reactions on Twitter.

Last week it was leaked that Peter Parker was played by another actor in Spider-Man Remastered. The result is a different look from the protagonist compared to the original, which apparently does not meet with approval from some fans.

While there was extensive discussion in the forums about whether the changes really make sense, there were contemporaries who exceeded a certain limit. Bryan Intihar, the game’s creative director, announced on Twitter that the Spider-Man Remastered team was facing massive threats.

“To our Spidey fans: I totally appreciate your passion,” he said. “But sending me threatening notes that you will “HUNT YOU DOWN AND WE WILL FIND YOU! YOU FIX THIS NOW!” isn’t cool. With what’s happening in today’s world, let’s be a force for good and be respectful of each other. Thank you.”

Other developers and industry representatives got involved in the discussion. So said Bill Rosemann, Marvel Games VP, by giving his support: “You know who would send threatening notes to my Spider/Bro? Norman Osborn, Mr. Negative & Doctor Octopus. #SpiderManPS4 fans, in your life story are you the villain or are you Peter Parker, the hero you love so much? Be Peter. Be the hero.”

Similar words came from God of War director Cory Barlog, who said on Twitter, “What the f*ck, people? Please, don’t…don’t do this. Bryan is a good person. The entire Insomniac team is filled with hard working, great fucking people. This is not the way. We should be better to the people who make the things we love.”

What the fuck, people?

Please, don’t…don’t do this.

The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann added, “Sigh… sorry you have to deal with this crap, Bryan.”

Peter Parker’s major face remodeling was confirmed last week. It became known that the services of Ben Jordan, who bears a resemblance to the Spider-Man film star Tom Holland, were relied on.

Spider-Man Remastered is part of the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It has already been confirmed that there will be no free upgrades for owners of the PS4 version.
