Users of Evernote, the famous free note keeping app for android, may encounter or may have encountered the evernote sync error or “create new note error: Please wait until the notebook synced to the device“. This error occurs abruptly and will not even allow you to create new notes or use any features of Evernote. In some cases, you might get this error after an update. Fixing this problem is simple but it will require wiping all the Evernote data from your android device. Therefore, if you haven’t synced your older notes it might be lost. If you’ve already synced you can always retrieve it later by syncing again. Here are the steps to solve this error

  • Open Settings and then open Manage Applications
  • From All apps select Evernote
  • Force stop, Clear Data and Clear Cache
  • Then rerun the app.
  • Log in your Evernote account
  • Now click sync to get your old notes back

Note: This error is universal to all android smartphones, tablets and also iphone and ipad. The above method is for Android devices only.
