Skype Translator first appeared last year and it’s available as a solo product compatible with Windows 8. After several months of testing, Microsoft is announcing that it’s finally bringing the translator feature to the desktop version of Skype.
The new translator feature is available for Skype in Windows 10, Windows 8, and even for Windows 7. The feature currently supports six voice languages, including Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, and Mandarin.
With the new translator feature, you don’t even need to learn a foreign language, you speak and Skype will do voice translation on your behalf.
“Researchers, engineers, and many others across Microsoft have been working hard to make this dream a reality and we are looking forward to bringing this preview technology to more devices.” The company says.
The software giant will begin rolling out the new update for the Skype app for Windows in the coming weeks. When the feature becomes available, you will see a translator button that you can configure during a conversation.

The Skype translator works for voice and video calls, but if you use the translator through instant messaging, then you can connect with up to 50 different languages.
