Skype Gets Twincam Feature To Connect Two Cameras During Video Calls

• Microsoft introduces TwinCam feature for Skype.

Microsoft is not done with Skype as it introduces a new feature known as “TwinCam.” The new feature allows adding a second camera feed to the Skype video call so that you can stream yourself while showing something else.

For instance, if you want to stay on the video feed on Windows 11 while showing something else, you can use another compatible device like your tablet, laptop, or phone and then open Skype and scan the barcode to sync the call using TwinCam.

The feature is still in development, but Microsoft plans to roll it out in the coming weeks. However, TwinCam will only work on devices running version 8.80.76.138 or higher, and you need to be signed in with the same Microsoft account.

While Skype has been losing popularity since Microsoft purchased the platform back in 2011 and then switched focus to Microsoft Teams in 2017, it seems that the company will continue to invest in the video chat platform for many more years as TwinCam is only one of the many features planned for Skype.
