Microsoft reveals what’s coming in Skype for Windows 8.1. Other than replacing the previous messaging app and coming pre-installed in the next update of Windows, Skype brings a few good improvements.
In the new version of the popular VoIP service the development team is adding the ability to answer calls from the Lock screen, meaning that no one has to be signed-in to answer. Also from the Start screen you’ll be able to choose to answer with voice, video, IM, or decline the call.
Skype for Windows 8.1 has improved for Snap view, now the app will automatically snap to the side when a web link is clicked — This is the same functionality that appears in the upcoming version of Mail –. Of course you’ll be able to make the snap bigger or smaller, so you can continue work efficiently.
Finally in the new version of the VoIP app you will also get a new feature where you can click a phone number on Internet Explorer 11 and make a call (Just like in the past).
It really sounds like Microsoft is doing a great work with the next version of Skype and perhaps will become the favorite app for communication in Windows 8.1.
