Microsoft is adding new features to SkyDrive that will certainly improve productivity while interacting with the cloud storage service whether you’re in Windows 8 or using a web browser. Although, SkyDrive had support for RAW camera files for some time, the cloud storage service now supports high DPI displays, like Retina and ClearType Full HD screens, by measuring the “dots-per-inch” of a device and delivering photos and thumbnails with higher resolution for a better viewing experience.
Previously, users could store GIF files, but they weren’t animated when saved or shared. In this new batch of updates, the software giant is finally allowing GIF files to be animated.
Microsoft is also adding other improvements, such as an option to rotate photos in SkyDrive.com. It’s changing sharing controls in documents and folder to let users select multiple photos from different folder and share them, instead of having to share each image individually. SkyDrive now makes simpler to view all photos on a specific folder, and Microsoft also it is adding an easier way to see what files you have shared before and what files other shared with you.

Another productive features on SkyDrive is the ability for users to share documents or photos without recipients having to sign in to make any kind of changes. Developers are also getting some interesting features in this set of features update. Now, SkyDrive includes support for editing capabilities for code files, such as HTML and CSS, JavaScript, and others. Users will also be able to take advantage of syntax highlighting, find, and word completion suggestions, and file comparison.
