The Microsoft’s cloud storage service, SkyDrive, desktop and mobile apps just received some nifty updates. The most noticeable changed is the addition to allow users to select which files to sync to the service and to remote devices. SkyDrive selective sync makes much easier for users not to  overload low capacity devices with large files and it will prevent the waste bandwidth in capped networks.

Other improvements include better sharing on the SkyDrive desktop application. Now with a simple right-click, you can select to view a document or share directly to SkyDrive.com.

The software giant also is releasing updates for the app for Android and for the Windows Phone 8 today. WP8 update brings user-interface cosmetic changes, improved folder and file search, and better control for photo upload and download sizes. The SkyDrive app for Android includes new support for all file types from SD card, the ability to rename folders and files, and a new custom soft order view.

You can check out the changes in action in the video above.
