Shutter is a tiny yet powerful utility that enable users to automate the shutdown processes on their Windows PC. While there are numerous applications that let you schedule system shutdown event, Shutter takes the automation a step further by providing you with a multitude of automation options and resultant tasks to choose from.
To get started, all you need to do is download and run the application. The best thing about the tool is that it does not require installation. Just extract the contents and run the application. By default, you will view a countdown timer and the Shutdown action selected. All you need to do is set the timer, such as 5 minutes or 1 hour, and click the Start button.
In addition to the shutdown event, you can also set the computer to log off, restart, run an alarm, turn off the monitor, hibernate, or more actions.
As for the trigger condition, instead of a countdown timer, you can set an event to be executed when your songs stop playing, when a certain window closes, when your laptop’s battery is low, etc.
By accessing the options of the application, you can expand the built-in actions by adding external application to run, or a song to be played when the condition is triggered.
