Samsung’s streaming service, known as Samsung TV Plus, is now available to watch on the web, as well as on Chromecast devices.

First reported by Protocol, the new compatibility allows anyone to watch Samsung’s streaming service, regardless of whether or not they have a Samsung device. Previously, you only could watch Samsung TV Plus on Samsung smart TVs or Samsung smartphones.

Protocol said that Samsung hasn’t yet officially announced the new ways to watch the streaming service, but that the company confirmed it added the new watching compatibilities in May.

The new Chromecast compatibility allows you to stream your favorite shows and movies with the Samsung TV Plus app for Android to a Chromecast-compatible device. It’s important to note Samsung’s app is still only available to download on Samsung phones, such as the Galaxy S21 or the Galaxy Note20. However, if you have an iPhone, you can still watch Samsung TV Plus via desktop on virtually any device.

Samsung TV Plus initially launched in 2015 and offers over 160 channels, ranging from news to sports to food, and more. The service is entirely free, making it stand out from other streaming service competitors that charge subscribers a monthly fee for TV and movie access. However, since it comes without a price tag, you still have to pay the price of dealing with ads in between watching a show or a movie.
