If you were lucky enough and living in the United States, you may have been one of the few persons who have bought the Samsung Galaxy S6 or the S6 Edge from the T-Mobile, since these devices are yet to go on sale on many parts on the world. Even in the United States, not all the carriers are selling it and those who are, they are selling a limited stock. At the moment, Samsung rolls out first OTA update for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

The update weighs 178.67 MB and packs mostly stability improvements and under the hood performance tweaks. The very generic changelog for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge listed indicating that there are bug fixes, performance improvements and potential feature enhancements. It is also likely the case that T-Mobile has issued an update to optimize its own Galaxy S6 and S6 edge devices for its blazing-fast 4G LTE network. The software makes the jump to build number UVU1AOCG, but of course that doesn’t really matter as much as what’s actually been changed that users will notice.

If you are currently using the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge from T-Mobile, you might have already got a notification about the update, giving you the options of either to update or to postpone. If you have not got it yet, you can check it manually by going to Menu » Settings » About Phone » System Updates. You may also want to connect to a WiFi network before downloading the update (since the file size is quite large), and also do make sure that you have at least 40% charge left in your device, before installing the update (if you have not, then plug in your device first till it gets the enough charge, and then only install it).

Samsung is usually not this fast in case of updates, even for the flagships, but it seems Samsung is trying to improve its update service, which might help it to boost up the sales again. Now, as the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge get an OTA update even before they hit shelves in many markets of the world, we can expect the rest of the devices coming to them as soon as they get in the buyers’ hands, or come with the update pre-installed, as Samsung thinks correct.
