Samsung has finally revealed the much-rumored Galaxy Tab S7 FE, as well as another more-affordable Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.
The two tablets officially were announced on Thursday, and are designed to offer affordable Android tablet experiences, while also offering some of the premium specs seen in more expensive Samsung tablets. According to XDA Developers, Samsung quietly launched a page for the Galaxy Tab S7 FE on its German website on Monday, but waited until Thursday to make the official reveal.
“Demand for tablets continues to grow. Whether it’s for studying remotely, connecting with friends, or enjoying personal entertainment, consumers are looking for devices that keep up with their creative and busy lifestyles,” Woncheol Chai, the senior vice president and head of the experience planning team for the mobile communications business at Samsung, said in the press release.
“We’re excited to provide consumers the technology they need to get the most out of every day. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite are equipped with stunning features that are designed to meet the daily needs of consumers.”
The Galaxy Tab S7 FE will sport a large 12.4-inch display, an included S-Pen for writing on the tablet, as well as access to Samsung DeX, allowing tablet owners to turn the large tablet into a laptop. DeX also will allow the tablet to connect to a second monitor, which should bring some extra productivity tools for users who enjoy using multiple displays. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE runs off Android 11 and comes with up to 6GB of Ram and 128GB of internal storage.
The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will offer a smaller experience and features an 8.7-inch display. It offers up to 64GB of internal storage space and can be expanded up to 1TB using a MicroSD card. Samsung says it’s perfect for those looking for a compact entertainment machine. The company also notes that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite ships with dual speakers and Dolby Atmos to make your audio experience better, even when on the go.
Both devices will work seamlessly with others in the Samsung ecosystem and are slated to arrive for purchase in June. Samsung has yet to reveal any official pricing information for the new tablets.
