Samsung is quietly rolling out the One UI 3.1.1 update to its flagship smartphones.
The update was discovered by the Samsung fan community SamMobile, which noticed it had gone out to the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy Note 20 series of smartphones.
One UI 3.1.1 brings better performance, new features, and other smaller improvements to the smartphones. According to SamMobile, the phones now have a faster app opening speed, fingerprint reader, camera, and better heat management.
The user interface and some of the base apps also have been redesigned. Users can now set their call screen with any video or image to add a personal touch. In addition, the design and color of the clock on the Always On Display and Lock screen can be changed to suit a user’s needs.
The Camera app has been expanded with a new Night Mode for low light photography and new modes and effects are applied automatically, such as blurring the background on portraits.
New features include the Weekly Report, Driving Mode, and Bedtime Mode.
The Weekly Report tells users what their app usage patterns are, which can help change personal phone behavior. Driving mode keeps drivers focused on the road by automatically replying to texts, and Bedtime mode blocks notifications at night.
Due to the quiet nature of the rollout, people may not be aware of the update. Device owners can manually check for the latest update by going to Software updates under the Settings menu.
