Samsung has announced its new phablet beast, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in its IFA event, along with the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which has curved display. Both of them have similar specs, while the display feature in its edge is a unique speciality of the Note Edge. They will have the fingerprint sensor similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S5, while other specs are also super high and renovated to its successors.
While discussing about the specs, the Galaxy Note 4 feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive display of 1600 x 2560 pixels with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, which has a pixel density of 524 ppi. The Galaxy Note Edge is however, slightly small with a 5.6 inches display of same details. The Galaxy Note 4 sports a sleek profile with dimensions 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm (the Note Edge is 151.3 x 82.4 x 8.3 mm, which is due to the smaller display size) and weighs 176 grams (Note Edge is 174 Grams), which is quite heavy but still good for the size. Both the devices will have 32 or 64 GB of internal memory, with an option of expandable storage upto 64 GB via microSD card. Both will have a 3 GB RAM, and for the processing power, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or Exynos 5433 chipset, complied with a Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 450 (Snapdragon) or Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core Cortex-A57 (Exynos) CPU, depending upon the markets. They will feature an Adreno 420 (Snapdragon) or Mali-T760 (Exynos) GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, these smartphones will have a 16 MP primary camera with LED Flash, Dual Shot, geo-tagging and many other features, which can capture videos upto 2,160 pixels @ 30 fps, and a 3.7 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a 3,220 mAh battery in Note 4, and a Li-ion 3,000 mAh battery in Note Edge. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi and NFC. Both the phones will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system with the Samsung TouchWiz over it. While the Galaxy Note 4 will be available in Frosted white, Charcoal black, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink color options, the Note Edge will be available in Black and White color options only.
Despite having a smaller battery and display size, the Galaxy Note Edge and the Note 4 have all the same specs, while the edge display is a plus point for the Galaxy Note 4. We will see how these phones will do in the future, as they are going to be released very soon worldwide with a pretty high price.
