Samsung Display has announced that it is creating 14-inch OLED display panels for the latest ASUS laptop models.

Thursday, Samsung Display revealed it has begun manufacturing 14-inch 90Hz OLED displays with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 for upcoming ASUS laptops, including the ASUS Zenbook 14X Pro and Vivobook Pro 14X. This is just the most recent example of how Samsung creates displays for global laptop manufacturers like Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Samsung Electronics.

Samsung says the new 90Hz OLED panels will offer crisper, cleaner image resolution for users, especially for those looking to enjoy high-performance media on their laptops.

Additionally, Samsung also is working on the first high-resolution 4K OLED panels in 16-inch displays, for which it has shared no availability just yet.

OLED displays have become increasingly popular in laptops over the past few years, and Samsung’s push to provide more OLED panels to laptop makers will no doubt help that area of personal computing grow.

Samsung also says that a 90HZ OLED panel showed a 10% improvement for blur, compared to a 120HZ LCD panel. This means less motion blur and cleaner movement when watching videos on the laptop displays.

It’s unclear when the new laptops featuring Samsung’s displays will be available to purchase, but at least manufacturing the panels has begun.
