Razer has announced the return of the Razer Blade 14, which will feature an AMD processor, as well as a new gaming monitor and a USB-C charger.
Razer unveiled the new Blade 14 during its first-ever E3 keynote on Monday. The new Blade 14 will be the first Razer-branded gaming laptop to include an AMD processor and support for up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU. Additionally, the laptop will include a configuration with a 1440P Quad HD (QHD) display running at 165Hz.
The Blade 14 will ship with support for THX Spatial Audio, for what Razer calls a “more immersive audio experience.” It also will feature the standard Razer laptop offerings, including per-key Chroma RGB and multiple USB ports for you to connect all your favorite accessories.
The new Razer Blade 14 will mark the return of the compact gaming laptop, which has been on hiatus for three years.
“When we introduced the Blade 14 in 2013, Razer challenged the industry to think bigger, yet smaller. The original Blade 14 revolutionized the mobile gaming landscape, earned laptop of the decade, and brought us to where we are today,” Brad Wildes, senior vice president and general manager of Razer’s Systems business, wrote in the press release.
“The new Blade 14 aims to shake up the industry once again by combining Razer’s decade worth of experience in crafting ultra-compact and high-end gaming machines with the power and efficiency of AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors.”
Razer also announced the first THX-certified PC monitor, the Raptor 27. The new gaming monitor will feature a 165Hz display with 1ms response time, and is designed to deliver a high-speed and high-resolution image.
Much like Razer’s other gaming-centric peripherals, the Raptor 27 will offer Chroma RGB lighting, with support for the company’s management software, Razer Synapse 3. While the Raptor 27 ships with its own stand, Razer will also sell a VESA adapter that lets it connect to most standard monitor stands.
Finally, Razer used the keynote to announce its first Gallium Nitride (GaN) charging device. The USB-C GaN charger will offer up to 130W of combined charging ability with two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports.
The charger is small enough to fit into your pocket, and Razer claims it will provide more efficient power delivery, compared to traditional chargers.
The Razer Blade 14 will start at $1799.99, while the Razer USB-C GaN Charger will retail at $179.99. Both are available right now. The Raptor 27 will be available in Q3 2021, at $799.99. The VESA adapter will ship separately for $99.99.
