Pokemon Go is all about catching different wandering wild Pokemon into your Pokeballs. If you have played this game since its inception, you would know about the Incense. It is a pretty valuable tool that lures the nearby Pokemon into your proximity. But for some players, it seems that neither the Orange incense is working nor the Green one. Players are confused about whether it is a bug or an issue? Not to worry, check out our guide on how to fix the Incense not working in Pokemon Go.
How to Fix Incense Not Working in Pokemon Go
For the first question, it is not a bug that’s causing an incense to not work. Incense lures the Pokemon for a certain period. But if you don’t have the Date and Time settings set right for the devices, it can cause these issues.
So, let’s set it right on Android and iOS devices. Let’s start with the Android first.
How to Fix Incense not working on Android Devices
Follow these steps:
- Head over to the Settings.
- Scroll to navigate the Date and Time settings.
- Alternatively, you can also search for this setting.
- Now, select or toggle the “Set time automatically” option to enable the setting.
- Also, enable the Set time zone automatically setting while you are at it.
How to Fix Incense not working on iOS Devices
Follow these steps to fix the Incense not working issue:
- Head over to the Settings.
- Select the General tab and scroll down to the Date & Time option.
- Now, toggle the “Set Automatically” setting to enable the Date and Time.
This should hopefully fix the Incense not working issue on iOS and Android devices.
According to the Exploration updates, the duration for Incense was upgraded from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. But players that remain stationary can lure a single Pokemon every five minutes. While some players are annoyed by the new changes by Niantic, make sure that at least one Pokemon spawns under your radar.
And if not, make sure to change your Date and Time settings.
