Microsoft recently published a list of features that will be removed or deprecated starting with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Unfortunately, the list of deprecated features also included the good ol’ Microsoft Paint application, which has been part of Windows since the company introduced the graphical user interface.
However, soon after the list was published, Microsoft released a statement clarifying that even though it’ll eventually remove the Paint app from Windows 10. It’ll not be the end of it.
In the future, the company plans to make Paint available through the Windows Store, and it’ll continue to receive updates.
The statement that Microsoft published reads “MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.”
Additionally, the company reminded users that they can also use the new Paint 3D app to edit or create images on Windows 10. “In addition to the new 3D capabilities, many of the MS Paint features people know and love like photo editing, line and curve tools, and 2D creation are in Paint 3D.”
