We purchased the Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station so our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and assess it. Keep reading for our full product review.
There are two main kinds of charging stations: USB chargers that include a place to set your electronics, and organizers that include a place to hide your unsightly chargers and wires. The Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station falls into the second category. It doesn’t include a built-in charger, but it does have plenty of space for the chargers you already have, shelves to hold your phones and other electronics, and even a drawer to help tame any other clutter you might be dealing with.
We recently unpacked the Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station for some real-world, hands-on testing. We checked out how well it fits into real spaces around the home and office, how good it is at holding and organizing devices, and even how well it stands up to daily use.
Design: Functional design fits with a variety of decors
The Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station has a very basic and unremarkable design. It isn’t flashy, and the design is more about functionality than aesthetics. It’s solidly built out of composite wood product and has a simple matte white finish. The color and design are well-suited to blend into a variety of home decors without standing out.
On the front, you’ll find a roomy drawer, big enough to hold items like notepads, pens, staplers, or anything else you want to keep close at hand. The rear of the unit conceals a large compartment, hidden behind a hinged door that’s held in place by magnets. This compartment is ideal for holding your USB chargers, or even a decently sized universal USB charger if you have one.
For device storage, it has two shelves, with four holes between the shelves. The holes open into the hidden compartment in the rear, and they’re designed to provide access to USB charging cables. It’s an elegant enough solution to the problem of messy charging cables and wires.
The color and design are well-suited to blend into a variety of home decors without standing out.
It’s important to note that this charging station is big. It really isn’t designed for use on desks, as it just takes up too much space. If you have space, that’s fine, and it works as well on a desk as anywhere else, but it’s a much better fit, in terms of size, on a kitchen counter. It’s also a nice fit on a nightstand, though probably won’t have any room left over for anything else.
Setup Process: Ready to go out of the box
Put away your Allen wrenches. The Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station is a solid little piece of furniture, and it arrives fully assembled. Take it out of the box, set it on your kitchen counter or bedside table, and it’s ready to go.
The only real setup to speak of involves placing your chargers in the rear compartment and threading the charging cables through the holes on the front of the unit. This process takes no time at all, although your experience will vary depending on the specific arrangement of cables and chargers you’re working with.
Ease of Use: Effortless organization and clutter reduction
The Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station is simple in design, so there are no real complications involved in its use. The general flow involves grabbing the appropriate charger cable, plugging in a device, and then setting the device on one of the shelves.
The only real ease of use issue is that, unlike a lot of charging stations and docks, this unit has two flat shelves instead of vertical slots. That makes it difficult to prop your device up in a such a way as to make the screen visible if you’re using the charging station at a desk. If you’re using it a different location, like a kitchen counter, that isn’t an issue.
The other problem that some users will run into is that the slot that’s meant to accommodate the charger power cords on the back of the unit is a little thin. That can make it difficult to get all your charger power cords to fit neatly into the slot. If you have a compact USB charger to place in the back of this unit, that issue takes care of itself.
Construction: Built to last
The Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station isn’t solid wood, but it is solid. According to the sticker on the back, it’s constructed out of composite wood. It might not be heirloom quality furniture, but it’s definitely built to last.
The one issue with the construction is that the drawer doesn’t have runners or slides. It simply sits in the opening with a significant amount of play on each side.
The size of this unit, and the solidness of the construction are remarkable considering the price that you pay
Charging Speed: Bring your own
Some charging stations and docks include a built-in charger, and others don’t. This one doesn’t. What it does have is a massive compartment on the back, sealed off by a hinged door that’s held in place by magnets. This compartment allows you to hide your own chargers or the universal USB charger of your choice and do away with the tangle of wires you would normally have to deal with.
Charging capacity: No charger included
Since the Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station doesn’t have a built-in charger, it doesn’t have a limit as to how many devices it can charge. It has four holes for charging cables, but you can easily feed two or three USB cables through each hole with room to spare.
In terms of how many devices you can fit in the charging station at once, there’s enough space for two or three phones on each other upper and lower shelves, depending on the size of the phone. Mixing in smaller devices, like portable USB chargers and headphones, increases the capacity, while large tablets will have to be leaned up against the side of the station or take up all the available real estate.
Price: Decent price for such a solidly built unit
At $51.99, the Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station is priced more or less in line with other charging stations that require you to supply your own USB chargers. The size of this unit, and the solidness of the construction are remarkable considering the price you pay. It typically retails in the $30 to $50 range, and it’s a tremendous deal at the lower end.
What you get with this charging dock is an attractively-designed piece of furniture that won’t look like an eyesore on your kitchen counter or bedside table.
Competition: Tough to beat in terms of extra storage, but you have to use your own charger
As a piece of furniture, the Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station is head and shoulders above the competition. You can find charging stations that include extra storage spaces and drawers, but you’d be hard pressed to find another one with a drawer this big.
The similarly priced EasyAcc Multi-Device Organizer includes a drawer for extra storage, but it’s much, much smaller. You can fit a lot more in the drawer that’s built into this unit, although the EasyAcc dock includes a dedicated tray for things like pens, and vertical stands for bigger electronics like tablets and laptops.
Where the Organize-It-All Multi-Device Charging Station alls apart is the fact that, at this price point, you can find charging stations that don’t require a separate USB charger. For example, the Simicore USB Charging Station has four built-in USB charging ports, and it even includes USB cables.
Another slightly more expensive competitor, the SIIG Smart Charging Station, includes 10 USB ports, a non-slip deck to hold things like smartwatches, and features slots capable of holding everything from phones to small laptops.
A nice piece of furniture that will last a long time.
