Facebook unveiled Thursday it is revamping News Feed with a new look and feel, emphasizing on “getting Facebook out-of-the-way” and putting people’s stories front and center.

As you’ll come to see the new News Feed redesign is a major change since the release of Facebook Timeline back in 2011. There are three main areas where the company is redesigning, including: bigger images, multiple feeds and responsive designed.

This time around the social network giant has completely overhauled the News Feed to be more colorful and vibrant, highlighting the posts, photos, news, maps, and events that people are sharing.

Also in order for users to sort and filter stories in a more logical way without missing anything, Facebook is introducing several additional feeds:

  • All Friends – shows everything your friends are sharing
  • Photos – shows everything about images from Pages you like and friends
  • Music – shows posts about music you listen to
  • Following – shows the trending news from Pages you liked and people you follow

The new design that Facebook is unveiling is a responsive design (or how the company calls it “inspired by mobile”), which means that it has been optimized for users to have the same experience whether they check their feeds from a PC, tablet, or mobile device.

The company also said that they will be rolling the new design slowly and users who want to be considered for an early access, they can “sign up” by visiting facebook.com/newsfeed and clicking “Join Waiting List”.
