WhatsApp desktop is a helpful tool for people who want to stay connected on messaging but through laptops or PCs, which is possible either via the web version or the Windows app that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.

The Meta-owned messaging platform is reportedly adding new features for its desktop users. As per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on adding a new Select Chats option to the web/desktop version. By selecting particular conversations, it is possible to mute or change all of the conversations to either read or unread.

Currently, performing actions for several conversations on a desktop is rather difficult. WhatsApp will make things simpler with the new functionality.

According to a WABetaInfo article, a feature that is being developed will allow users to pick numerous chats. It will probably be made available in a later version of WhatsApp Desktop beta. There is no set date for the same’s launch, though.

With the new update, WhatsApp users might be able to pin up to 5 chats and have ability to report Status updates incase they find it offensive and derogatory.

It’s possible that this will also apply to the Android and iOS versions, although it’s unclear when this will happen.

Till the time we all look forward to any updates on this feature, WhatsApp has discontinued its services on a few old devices.
