Motorola has launched a sequel of its Moto G 4G, silently starting from Brazil. There had been rumors about the announcement of this phone for quite a while, and the specs are well as expected. The changes in the Moto G 4G 2015 and its prequel are almost parallel to the original Moto G and is sequel, except the latest version of the Moto G has now got a bigger battery.
Well, rest of the specs of the Moto G 4G 2015 are well-known already. The handset is still powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, clocked at 1.2GHz, has the same 5-inch 720p display and the same camera setup – 8MP main and 2MP front-facing shooter. As already mentioned, the battery size now increased, which is 2,390mAh. The phone will only be available in 16 GB internal memory version, i.e. there is now 8 GB version of this phone. There will be the expandable storage option as well, via microSD card up to 32 GB. The phone will come with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of box, and will be available in Black and Lemon colors.
The greatest advantage of having a Moto G 4G 2015 over the Moto G 2014 (or any of the previous versions) seems to be a bigger battery. Though it was somehow OK in the Moto G 2013 and Moto G 4G, the battery in Moto G 2014 really sucked, as the display size was significantly increased, but not the battery. Another added advantage is the LTE support, as it will be useful for the users expecting a faster mobile data support (the bigger battery will help the device run for more time in LTE). Having Lollipop out of box is good too, but since most (if not all) of the Moto Gs worldwide now already have been updated, it would not have made no sense for Motorola to release their latest phone in KitKat.
The phone is already available for purchase in Brazil, for a price of R$ 899, which is $336 USD. The price is not that competitive, but since the Brazilian prices are alwys high, we can expect it in a little cheaper price elsewhere. Though there is no any official statement, we expect it to be released in other Western and Asian countries soon, and will update about any information available.
